Shoe Candy-Fergalicious Giselle Sandal and Rock your red pumps!

Fergalicious Giselle Sandal

This fabulous sandal is a wonderful piece of shoe candy and it costs less than $50 at DSW. However, I’m posting it for several reasons. First of all, it’s a great shoe to have for the spring/summer so you should get it if you’re looking to inject a pop of color into your wardrobe. Second of all, it’s in honor of National Women & Girls’ HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on March 10.

When I was 17, I signed up to become a peer educator at AID Atlanta. I did it mainly because the program sounded really cool and my good friend had just done it but when I did it, I fell in love with it. I discovered that I enjoyed educating people about protecting themselves against HIV/AIDS. I also realized that I am very comfortable talking about uncomfortable subjects.

I’ve noticed that in recent years, the talk about HIV/AIDS and being knowledgeable or aware has waned. It seems that people think it is no longer an issue but it still is. Here are some unfortunate statistics:

The largest number of HIV/AIDS diagnoses during recent years was for women aged 15–39.
High-risk heterosexual contact is the source of 80% of these newly diagnosed infections in women in the US.

Those are just a couple of statistics that we need to remember. HIV/AIDS is still an issue and we can’t forget just because you don’t see it in the news all the time like in the past.

Well, I’m always looking for ways to support education and research into HIV/AIDS so I decided (kind of last-minute), to support the Red Pump Project and National Women & Girls’ HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is March 10. I decided to do a Shoe Candy as a way to share this initiative with the world. Visit www.theredpumpproject.org or click the button below to learn more about this initiative and to support yourself.

Shoe Candy-Lindy-1 Tan Platform Wedges

Feb 24, 2012 by

So I found this wonderful shoe website not too long ago and I decided to check it out. I ordered a very cute pair of thigh high boots that I really like, but more on those later. Today, I wanted to feature another pair of shoes from the site, shoes19.com. One of the hot shoe trends for this spring/summer is wedges. Now, this is a great classic trend in general and I love it when classics becomes trends because you can continue to wear them long after the trend has passed. These tan wedges are great as neutrals or a pop of color and you can’t go wrong with a well placed wedge. Plus, they’re only $19. If you’re looking to start expanding your summer shoe wardrobe, check these out.

Shoe Candy-Black Breckelle Over Knee High Riding Boots

Jan 29, 2012 by

As a big fan of shoes, I enjoy staying on top of the trends and watching what shoes make the runway during fashion week. However, trendy shoes aren’t unlike trendy clothes. If you don’t have a huge shopping budget, it’s not always wise to pay a lot of money for pieces you will wear sporadically. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a great pair of thigh high boots for a while. Initially, when they returned to popularity, you could only find them being sold for $100 and up. And even though they come in black, thigh high boots aren’t something I see myself wearing regularly. Those are statement boots and not many people wear statement pieces on a regular basis. Here is a pair of great thigh high boots that are black leather with lots of cool buckles on them. Plus, they’re only $39 from this awesome website that I recently discovered, www.shoes19.com

I suggest you take some time and poke around this site. Since I just discovered it, I haven’t had an opportunity to make a purchase but I will be doing so in the near future and I’ll keep you updated on my experience. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. Have you tried www.shoes19.com? If so, what was your experience?

Shoe candy-Sparkly Pumps

Dec 10, 2011 by

I have been on a search for a great pair of budget friendly sparkly pumps. Now don’t get me wrong, sparkly pumps are definitely not in short supply but the ones I tend to gravitate towards are the designer ones that cost hundreds of dollars. My mom would not be a happy camper if I showed up on Christmas with my great sparkly pumps in lieu of her gifts. So, since I am keeping with the holiday spirit and buying gifts, I need some pumps that sparkle for less. Here are a great pair of orange sparkly pumps. You can get these for $18.99 at AMI Clubwear.

Now here is the actual secret. These pumps are definitely worthy of shoe candy but this post is really about the place that sells these fabulously yummy pumps, AMI Clubwear. It is a website that I learned about a year ago. They sell trendy clothes, accessories and shoes, glorious shoes for very reasonable prices. I have purchased shoes from them and they are of good quality. If you want to expand your shoe wardrobe without killing your budget, check them out. If you do visit and buy something (why wouldn’t you?), please share. I love to hear about great shopping finds.
