Back to Basics: What is my body type?

Jan 21, 2011 by

Knowing your body type is essential to looking your best. However, many women are not honest with themselves about what they’re actual body type is. They tend to focus on the one feature that may stand out the most (or the least) and try to dress around that one feature. That’s not a good idea. You have to address your body in it’s entirety.

I found a great article written by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, style experts who wrote a book called The Body Shape Bible where they identified 12 different body types that women have. This article gives a summary of the different body types and it uses pictures of real women to illustrate each type. It’s a good article and I suggest you check it out before taking your next shopping trip. While you read it, you can check out the pictures and figure out which type best fits you. Then they also include a couple of style tips to make sure you look your best.

Go! Read! Enjoy!

Oh wow thanks for this post and the link to that article. After reading the article and looking at the pictures, I think I’m a pear, but those pictures make me think that I could be more than one shape. But for now I’m sticking with Pear. lol.

    Thanks again,

Yes, many of us fit into more than one category but if you run with one shape, that will point you in the right direction. I hope this helps you when you’re shopping and need help deciding what’s the best fit for you.
