I need help with a top. I am 5’6″, thin and have a lot of leg. I am going to an event wearing beige wide leg pants with a tan belt. I need top help pretty please!

Ok, so after reading Yondel’s plea for a shirt suggestion, I had a few thoughts. Since the pants are beige and the belt is tan, I would suggest going for a top that is either a pop of color like a red, bold blue or bright green (not pastel, though) or a top that has a bold print. I wouldn’t suggest a small print though since that could run the risk of making you look like a too conservative.
Also, since you’re thin, I think your top should have some shape to it so the pants don’t over power the outfit. Here are some of the types of tops I suggest:
1. A tunic top with a v-neck of some sort: This top will allow you to wear the belt around your waist and accentuate your waist and bust in one fell swoop. Make sure it’s nicely fitted and it will make you look all lovely and curvy. The one in the picture is a good example of a nice tunic that will work in a similar color or red or true green.
2. A waist length colored blazer with a tan/beige tank underneath or bra if you’re feeling racy: This will pull the look together in a sexy secretary type of look. Plus, waist length blazers tend to taper at the waist and make you look curvy as well. The one in the picture on left is an ideal type that accentuates the waist but isn’t too long. Plus, this type of blazer would be fabulous with other outfits. It’s a great staple.
3. A great, fitted t-shirt tucked into your pants to show off the belt: This would be a great simple way to do the outfit but make sure the shirt is a bright, cold color to draw the attention up and not down only to the pants. You can go for bright jewel tones like red, green, blue, turquoise and purple.
I hope this is helpful. I’d love to see a picture of the outfit you decide on. Good luck and thanks for sharing your style question!
