Product Review: Foot Covers by Kushyfoot

Sep 14, 2011 by

In addition to my cute, snakeskin Flats to Go, the wonderful folks over at Lipton Publicity also sent me some Foot Covers by Kushyfoot. If you don’t know what these are, they are super short socks that you can wear in pumps, loafers and other shoes that may rub your feet if you don’t have on socks or stockings. They’re great for those warm summer months when you don’t want to wear stockings or socks but you need something on your feet.

Now the cool thing about these Foot Covers is that they also have little pads on the front/balls of the foot and on the back/heel area. This is cool because not only are you covering your feet, you can enjoy a touch of added comfort. I am a strong believer that all shoes should be comfortable so I look for that as often as possible. Now that isn’t to say that I will turn down a fierce pair of shoes that are slightly uncomfortable. I own quite a few pairs of shoes that fall into the “fashion is painful” category.

But I digress…

I decided to really test out the Foot Covers and the added cushion. First, I put them on with a pair of casual flat shoes that I often wear when I am working and standing for a few hours. I immediately noticed two things about the Foot Covers:

1. The little cushions are great! They do add a nice touch of cushion and it lasts for long periods of time.
2. They didn’t stay on my feet! As soon as I started walking around in them, they began to slip off.

I figured that maybe the shoes I wore them with initially were too loose so I decided to try them out with some pumps. Again, the cushion was great, especially in my heels. But they slipped off just the same. Now, I still kept them on even though they weren’t on my entire foot and the cushion on the front/ball of my foot was a wonderful bonus as I stood in my heels for three hours straight at an event. I think the thing that would make these work is if I could get them a size larger than what I normally wear. Lipton Publicity sent me two different types. They sent the regular ones and the super low cut.

I would definitely recommend these to add to your sock wardrobe. The little cushion is wonderful! If you already wear those little footie socks, then you will have no problem adapting to these. If you don’t, they aren’t super expensive. The lace ones (which I tried and really liked) sell for $11.97 on the Kushyfoot website. You can try them out and I’m sure they’ll work for at least a couple of your shoes and make a big difference in the process.
