Smokey Eye Tutorial from Faced Forward

As Halloween approaches, I wanted to share some good videos with you giving tips on how to vamp up your makeup. I know when I choose my Halloween costume, I tend to want to do a bit more with my makeup than I normally do. I already posted a smokey eye video here Smoke Those Eyes. It’s very basic and easy to understand. In fact, I’ve used it to create a subtle smokey eye for myself a few times.

Well I found another smokey eye video for a much more dramatic eye. If you want to go for the drama this holiday season, this is a good video to use. Juliana is very clear in her instructions and the products she uses so I suggest you doing some trial runs in advance. She also instructs you to put eyeliner and shadow on your lower lid. If you want to go that route, I suggest you test it out before the day of your event. I learned the hard way that liner on my lower lid causes my eyes to itch. I think that area is more sensitive than your upper lid so test first.

Otherwise, enjoy these videos and I’d love to see your smokey eye pictures.

How do I wear that trend…soft smokey eye

Jun 25, 2009 by

The smokey eye has been popular for quite some time. It does add quite the sexy allure when your eyes are properly smoked. Typically it’s a look saved for a more high glam look when you’re going out on the town or to a formal event. With the spring makeup trends, it’s become something that can be worn in other situations. By making the smokey eye, soft, you can put it on during the day without it being overwhelming. This is great for us ladies that may be intimidated by the smokey eye thinking it’s too dramatic. Rather than doing the smokey eye with dark colors like plums, black and browns, make it softer by using grays, taupe and pinks. You can do it using the softer colors that are ideal for the warmer months. I’ve already posted an instructional video showing you how to do a smokey eye. Check out the post. It’s very helpful. I’ve done a smokey eye using it and it turned out nicely.

Smoke Those Eyes!

So to recap. Take a look at the video. Instead of using dark colors, use lighter softer colors and practice smoking your eye! I’d love to receive some pictures of successful soft smokey eyes. Please share!

Smoke those eyes!

I am going to a Halloween party this weekend and I’m going as a dark fairy.  Basically I’m wearing dark fairy wings and an all black outfit.  However, this particular Halloween party is of the sexy variety so my costume has to have sex appeal to it.  Well in addition to my dark, sexy outfit, I will also do some dramatic lashes and a smokey eye.  I’ve experimented with the smokey eye but I wanted to learn how to do it the proper way so I decided to put up a video for you as well.  Since this is the holiday season, more of us will be attending holiday events where dressing up will be a requirement.  One great way to dress up your face is by doing that famous smokey eye.  I found a cool video that shows you how do it with very little muss or fuss.  If you feel like you need additional help, shoot me a question and I will find the answer for you.  I like this video and I already feel like I know a bit more about doing a smokey eye.  Check it out.

I will post pictures of my costume and smokey eye after this weekend. Please, share your smokey eye pictures with me as well. I would love to see how your makeup turns out.
